Curl up with a good book and a light blanket after dinner and enjoy the fresh spring evenings. In the summer months, toss this latte on ice to make it a thirst quenching treat.

This time of year there is an abundance of syrup, and is a great time to stock up for the year. Go to the local farmers market and pick up a bottle of pure maple syrup to sweeten the latte. Make sure you are purchasing real maple syrup and not maple flavoured syrup, which can be made from high fructose corn syrup. Because it is harvested from a plant source, maple syrup naturally contains vitamins and minerals, but it is the antioxidant content in maple syrup that contributes to its health benefit.
Be careful not to overdo it because maple syrup is still high in sugar.  Using it as a gentle sweetener for baked goods and lattes is an excellent way to ensure you aren’t overdoing it.
