Why Address Mental Health in the Workplace?

Mental Health Coaching in the Workplace

In order to address the growing absenteeism in the workplace and the increase in the number of disability claims, internal services for wellness need to be implemented. Offering EAP and benefits were once a solution, however in today’s times, more is required. With a passion for mental health and holistic wellness, Fournier Health offers Mental Health Coaching in the Workplace.

There is without a doubt a lack of mental health services in the community available to assist those in need.  Finding a counsellor or psychotherapist is extremely difficult and when one is found, the services are short and not always satisfying to the employee’s needs.

Disability management is a very reactive role where assistance is called in AFTER the employee has gone off work. In order to begin to address the number of escalating disability claims and manage the day-to-day disruption to the work environment, employers must implement internal services to address the gap.

This program:

  • Helps employees manage emotional and negative thinking patterns
  • Improves the employee’s skills as it relates to relationships
  • Provides tools to manage daily stress and anxiety
  • Includes stress management techniques
  • Assists clients develop personal awareness of their thoughts and behaviours
  • Addresses problems more efficiently and effectively
  • Offers short term approach to growth and development of self
  • 1-hour consultations with homework for employees referred
  • Offers mental health program and policy, along with training and education for the organization and its leaders

This program:

  • will make referrals to psychotherapists, psychologists and/or psychologists when deemed appropriate
  • does NOT take the place of counselling or psychotherapy
  • does NOT treat with medication
  • does NOT manage those with diagnosed mental health issues
